Is love worth killing for?
In the second book of the Charlotte Anthony series, plans for an idyllic holiday in Aspen are disrupted by the discovery of a dead professor in his lab full of suspicious-looking plants.
Once again, Charlotte joins forces with Detective Barnes to solve a murder that is anything but straightforward. Potential motives and suspects are many and the prof's complicated love life only adds to the confusion.
Her investigation reveals unexpected connections between husbands, wives, friends, and lovers, and between past and future events. But information can be deadly, and Charlotte's discoveries put both herself and her friends in great danger.
As if all of this this wasn't enough, Charlotte is swept off her feet by the most unlikely of suitors.

Like the main character. Don't care about living the minimalism life. However, the big turn off is Charlotte's choice of a new man. She seems immature, hasty and less smart than her 16 yr old daughter. The new "romance" with a questionable male really put the "ick" factor in the story. I say, dump him, you can do better!Product details

An Unexamined Wife The Charlotte Anthony Mysteries Book 2 edition by Meg Wolfe Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I enjoy Meg Wolfe's writing style. I couldn't put the book down. Her style is similar to Louise Penny's. Any author that can paint a blank canvas with words has me hooked and Meg does! I'm looking forward to more of her Charlotte Anthony series.
No more waiting, the second Charlotte Anthony mystery is here, yea! The thing about this writing that me and my sister enjoy so much is that it's a superb mystery but also Charlotte surprises us with her emotions when she falls in love so unexpectedly - to us at least - and although it somewhat clouds things for her, probably every woman reading it will relate to the emotions she goes through. At least for me, I could never be a detective, but I feel a kindred spirit with Charlotte in the relationship department. And for me (and Julie, my sister), that makes these Charlotte Anthony books so much better than the typical Detective fiction out there.
The second Charlotte Anthony mystery was terrific. It is lovely to dive into a new series and get to know the different characters with their strengths and weaknesses. Charlotte is a mature, interesting woman and I look forward to more of her adventures.
Meg Wolfe’s writing style is clear and engaging and makes me want to come back for more. I started following Meg’s Minimalist Woman blog and was happy but skeptical when she authored a fiction book. I should have known better because Meg’s ability to pull wisdom out of real, everyday life translates well to her fictional mysteries. I enjoy her relatable characters developed with that astute insight. An Unexamined Wife’s story line kept my interest but it was her characters that I enjoyed. So although the plot kept me turning the pages, it was the characters that had me eagerly opening the book at the end of the day.
A reader of Meg Wolfe's great blog and her musings on minimalism and an avid reader of cozy mysteries, I was totally delighted when she wrote the first Charlotte Anthony novel. I read it nearly overnight, and then I read it again. And now the second one just made the perfect Christmas gift to myself, lying on the couch and being immersed in the world of Elm Grove... Charlotte and the other characters are taken from real life, are unusual, incredibly likeable; it's wonderful to see them again and there are interesting new developments to the group of friends indeed! The plot is a good one, too, and there is even some romance in it. Feel-good-factor 100 percent. I absolutely adored it and I do hope for number three very, very soon.
The second book in Meg Wolfe’s Charlotte Anthony series gives readers more of what we enjoyed in her debut novel intrigue, uncovered secrets, surprising twists and, of course, murder! Through Wolfe’s witty and insightful writing, we get to know Charlotte better and sympathize with her struggle to reinvent herself while she faces the ghosts from her past and deepens her friendships in the present, including a romance for the future that you won’t see coming. Charlotte’s personal life is cleverly woven into another unusual and interesting murder case unique to the town of Elm Grove. This is a great holiday read, with two books--mystery and romance--for the price of one.
I was excited to hear from Meg Wolfe that she had completed a second mystery starring Charlotte Anthony, and she came through with flying colors. The people and the town come alive with Meg's story telling....and the mystery was wonderful....with lots of twists and turns. The characters have been developed so beautifully, and I am enjoying the paths their lives are taking. This is a wonderful weekend read. I am so privileged to be one of Meg's proof readers and can hardly wait for the promised next story!
Like the main character. Don't care about living the minimalism life. However, the big turn off is Charlotte's choice of a new man.
